Dual Video is available to present Term 1 Lectures

The recent introduction of “dual video” in CQUniversity’s ISL videoconference theatres has enhanced the delivery and quality of both live and recorded University lectures.

At Rockhampton, Mackay, Bundaberg and Gladstone campuses, students and staff can now use a new dual video feature when they are presenting in one of the University’s ISL videoconference theatres.

One of the benefits of using dual video is that when the lecture is recorded, the audience can view both the materials and the presenter at the same time.

For example last month CQUniversity’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Scott Bowman, used the ISL theatres at each campus to host a University-wide staff forum. This forum was recorded and made available for staff to view online. By using the new dual video functionality, staff could view the PowerPoint presentation and the Vice Chancellor simultaneously throughout the live ISL presentation and when watching the playback of the online recording.

Pictured below is an example of what the online recording will look like if staff use dual video during an ISL videoconference.

Seeking Staff Feedback about ISL Theatres
With Term 1 now underway, a number of staff would have used this new dual video functionality during an ISL lecture or videoconference. Any staff that have used the ISL theatres over the past few weeks are invited to attend a forum tomorrow (Thursday 18 March 2010) to discuss this new system and share their comments and suggestions.
