By Term 1, 2010 Moodle will have replaced CQUniversity’s two existing LMS’s: Blackboard and Webfuse.
Last month the Learning Management System Implementation Project (LMSIP) established CQUniversity’s first in-house installation of Moodle called the CQUniversity Moodle Playpen.
The Moodle Playpen is an experimental environment, enabling CQUniversity staff and students to:
- Take a look at Moodle;
- Become familiar with its basic components;
- Staff can provide comment and feedback on their experiences; and
- Start experimenting by developing a test course.
The LMSIP Team encourages both staff and students to login to the Playpen and gain an initial feel of what Moodle and its core features look like. There are a number of test courses available in the Playpen for you to view.
Throughout 2009 the LMS Implementation Project Team will work closely with key staff and student representatives to ensure Moodle is designed with functionality that aligns with CQUniversity’s primary stakeholder and strategic needs.
The implementation of Moodle enables CQUniversity to improve online learning experiences for both staff and students and ensure that our teaching innovation aligns with learning technology advances.
As training and key dates are finalised throughout the year, further Project details will be communicated. For additional information, CQUniversity staff & students can view the Moodle Web Site. If you have any enquiries please feel free to contact the LMSIP Project Manager, Jeffrey Santamaria on internal extension 2750 or email j.santamaria@cqu.edu.au.
