As a result all staff login passwords now expire upon reaching an age of 180 days and staff must change their password to gain access to the CQUniversity network.

To assist staff in changing their passwords, the Information Technology Division (ITD) has established a series of automated email reminders to prompt staff to change their password as it approaches its 180 day age limit.
These automated reminders are sent specifically to CQUniversity staff email accounts from the ITD Client Service Centre and include links to relevant information. The content of each reminder is slightly different as they are released over a series of days leading up to your passwords 180 day age limit. (The content outlined above is an example of a reminder you may receive).

To change your password it is easiest to use Ctrl-Alt-Del while logged on to the University network, and then choose the “Change Password” tab.
Another option to reset your password is to access the online self help CQUniversity Password Reset System or follow the “Forgot Password?” link located on all CQUniversity login pages. A user guide for the password reset system is also available: User Guide.
All users should establish their personal identification questions and answers on the CQUniversity Password Reset System. In the event you are locked out of your CQUniversity user account this will enable you to self sufficiently reset your password just by verifying your identity.
Once you change your password, it will be 180 days before you are forced to change it again. When changing your password, CQUniversity provides a number of password selection tips for you to consider: Password Use and Selection Guidelines.
