Before you “Google” the latest Olympic Games results, view the funniest clip on YouTube or quickly jump online to check your bank balance; perhaps it’s time to consider what this means for CQUniversity.
As communicated by the VCE in the August edition of the CQUniUPDATE; there is an increasingly high level of internet use at CQUniversity due to growing demands from students and staff across the University’s network.
With the internet being so readily available at CQUniversity most of us are unaware of the actual cost associated with its use for the University.
High traffic sites such as YouTube, MySpace, internet radio, movies and gaming all contribute to the University’s downloads. The use of these web sites at CQUniversity is not free and our internet traffic bill is rapidly increasing.
Internet access at CQUniversity is provided to staff and students for work and study purposes. On this basis, we remind everyone to respect their privilege to unlimited and unrestricted internet access.
