Over 2,700 CQUniversity students are using Moodle

In Term 2, 2009 CQUniversity pilots its new online learning system called ‘Moodle’.

Students have previously accessed all of their online courses using Blackboard (also known as e-courses) and Webfuse; but from Term 1, 2010 both of these will be replaced by a system called ‘Moodle’ which is CQUniversity’s new single online learning system.

In preparation for next year’s transition to Moodle, this term 35 courses from across the University are participating in a Moodle pilot. There is a combined total of 2,731 student enrolments across these 35 courses, and this pilot provides CQUniversity the opportunity to receive student and staff feedback.

With over 2,800 students and staff using Moodle to access their online courses, their feedback will enable CQUniversity to improve Moodle’s overall functionality and streamline the help and support available prior to next year’s Moodle implementation.

At the start of week 6 on Monday 17 August 2009, the students involved with this pilot will be asked to provide feedback on their experiences when using Moodle to access their online courses. This feedback will help to ensure next year’s change to Moodle is effective and smooth across the University.

For further information and to see if your course is taking part in the Term 2 Moodle pilot, students can type the word ‘Moodle’ into CQUniANSWERS (
