To make this process easier, in November 2008 the Information Technology Division introduced a new naming scheme for these network printers based on their building and room location, and their printer model.
As part of this scheme, over the past five weeks ITD has been assisting Rockhampton staff to map to the new ROKSTAFFPRINT network print server.
Now that the transition to the new print server is significantly completed, we would like to take this opportunity to remind staff that we intend to decommission the ROKPRINT and MAKO print servers after COB Friday 2 January 2009.
Therefore if you haven’t already done so, it is necessary that staff map their computers to the new ROKSTAFFPRINT print server before COB Friday 2 January 2009.
- For instructions on adding a network printer to your computer, click: How do I Add a Network Printer?
- An overview of the new naming details for each network printer is available online.
- If staff are unable to complete this process ITD Field Services staff can provide personal assistance in mapping computers to the new network print server.
